gettin there...

ok well...it's been a while since i've been on this thing. the transition to living out here in the vegas life has been so so. been out here for almost half a year already....pretty insane. still trying to gain more in the friend market. i've met a lot of people out here but none really who have gotten close enough to create lifelong friendships as of yet. i'm still relatively a newbie around here. everyone i hang out with are people from california ironically. work wise...my job is pretty chill but it gets insanely routine. coworkers are cool but i'm like one of the younger ones so it's a lil harder to relate. i did, however, score a new job at the new aria resort and casino at citycenter. so once i start the new job, it should enable me to meet tons of people from all walks of life....near or far. as for the fight game, i'm training at the warrior training center. it's pretty damn awesome. i train bjj with ricardo cavalcanti, a 4th degree blackbelt under carlson gracie. so i can say i represent the carlson gracie team of las vegas. i've been mainly focusing on my bjj game because well...wrestling is my background so that's what i really wanna be good at. i've been in two tournaments out here already, both which have been on two gigantic stages of the sporting world. one being the UFC fan expo during UFC 100 weekend and the other, the Mr Olympia weekend. i gotta say that competition is pretty damn tough out here. i'm 0-2 out here. so not cool. but after last weekend's fight...i've been thinking a lot about what lies ahead with the fight game. i definitely wanna take it up a notch with my game. i've started the transition by starting to lose the weight for grapplers quest in december. and so next year, i hope to join the amateur circuit. one of my reasons of moving out here was to step up the game so now that the dust has pretty much cleared from the move, it's about time to start pursuing my hopes and dreams, career and fighting wise, and who knows...maybe find the love of my life. i've hit my lowest of lows back home in san diego. i don't think i'll be moving back anytime soon. it's definitely been a journey in my 28 almost 29 years of existence. so now that i'm in a new environment and pretty much a new life, i can slowly pick myself back up. AD ASTRA PER ASPERA...it really has been a rough road...now it's time to take it up to the stars...
